About the Artist

Artistic Journey

Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Karimi began his artistic journey studying traditional painting techniques before discovering his passion for abstract expressionism. His early work was influenced by the color traditions of Pakistani truck art and textile design, which he gradually abstracted into pure color field compositions.

In the 1990s, Karimi's work began to gain recognition for its unique fusion of Eastern and Western abstract traditions. His paintings demonstrate a deep understanding of color theory and gestural expression, creating works that are both emotionally resonant and visually striking. His large-scale canvases invite viewers into immersive color experiences that transcend literal representation.

Today, Karimi is recognized as one of Pakistan's leading abstract artists, with works in major collections across South Asia and the Middle East. His paintings continue to evolve, incorporating new materials and techniques while maintaining his commitment to the expressive power of pure color and form.
